A Brief Overview Of Q.U.I.E.T. Services' Web Services Assistance & Expertise Team

Q.U.I.E.T. Services also provides web-services to its clients. If you run a business or organization that needs to communicate data between yourselves and various clients, you will definitely need a webservice if you are not aware of each other’s I.T. systems. Webservices represent the perfect method through which various Web-based applications can be integrated together. The main Web-Based applications include the following list: Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration(UDDI), Webservice Description Language (WSDL), and EXtensible Markup Language(XML).

Webservices often tend to also share business logic, data and processes through an Applications Programming Interface across either an internet or intranet. The network is never accessed through a user interface. Interfacing between these web-based applications is done without a Gateway User Interface (G.U.I.) – but rather they represent an open standard via an Internet Protocol (I.P.) base which is quite different from the traditional client/server models like a Web server/Web page content management systems.

The open standards interfacing is done through an Internet Protocol backbone that allows the XML to tag the data, SOAP application to transfer such data, and the WSDL and UDDI applications are each used with describing and listing what services are available respectively. Once our programming team is done writing the Web Service, it can be merged into a GUI (i.e. either an executable file or web page) that will either help deliver or enhance a specific collection of functionalities for its various set of users. The benefits in running a webservice written by Q.U.I.E.T. Services include cutting down on programming costs and saving on time and other expenses (especially the economic aspects to it). As data is communicated in XML, our webservices are not restricted to any particular operating system(s) or sets of programming language(s). With our webservices, a Java-based web program or webservice can communicate with a program written in Perl or Visual Basic based in Windows. Better examples would be of web services built with C# are called from a web application written with Java-Server Pages (JSP) while running on Linux.

In more practical real world examples where webservices are applied on an industrial scale, there would be a complicated and longer procedural management in the communication of data processes. One good example of a complex webservice being applied would be that of an account-management and order processing system. Such an account-management/order processing system could be utilizing a client application designed in C/C#/C++, Visual Basic, or JSP. While the client is written in these languages, the backend processing logic for such an aforementioned system would be coded in either COBOL, JAVA, or any other important language while operating from an Android tablet,Solaris machine, or any other terminal comprising a database to manage and store all the information. In such a situation, the client program would package the account registration information into a SOAP message in XML format via an HTTP POST request. Once the SOAP request has been unloaded, it will convert it into a command that can be interpreted (via machine language) by the application. The command then undergoes processing and this results with a unique account number for that particular client or customer. Subsequently, the response is bundled into a different SOAP message this time which will then return it to the client program in response to its HTTP request. Then the SOAP message is unloaded generating the final outcome of the account registration methods and procedures.
